Why Almost Kin?
Almost Kin is built on the belief that every person deserves compassionate, reliable care that supports independence and dignity. What began with simple home modifications through our sister company, Home Envy, has grown into a full continuum of non-medical and medical in-home services designed to meet each client’s unique needs. As a family-owned organization, we treat every individual like one of our own—providing personalized support, open communication, and a genuine commitment to enhancing comfort, safety, and quality of life at home.
Our Story
Almost Kin was originally inspired by the work of our sister company, Home Envy, which specialized in home modifications such as widening doorways, building ramps, and installing walk-in showers to help individuals remain safe and independent. Over time, families frequently approached us asking if we knew of trusted agencies that could provide ongoing support inside the home. Seeing a clear need in our community, we launched our Personal Services Agency division in 2012, offering non-medical care such as homemaking, light personal assistance, transportation, social engagement, and compassionate companionship. As the needs of our clients continued to grow, we expanded our services even further by establishing our Home Health division in 2025, enabling us to provide skilled nursing care, medication management, chronic condition monitoring, and post-surgical support. Today, Almost Kin delivers a full continuum of both medical and non-medical services designed to meet individuals wherever they are in their care journey.
